Online Support Groups
All of these online groups or bulletin boards (aka bboards) are active with lots of helpful people waiting to lend a friendly ear and give you advice. Your best bet is to take a look around at each of them and see where you feel comfortable.
The International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN)’s Facebook Group: ICAN hosts their official online support group for anyone wishing to discuss birth and cesarean issues on Facebook. With over 13,000 members - this group seeks to “improve maternal-child health by reducing preventable cesareans through education, supporting cesarean recovery, and advocating for vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).”
Facebook C-Section Support Group: With over 20,000 members and a fairly active community, this might be a good solution for you if you are already on FaceBook. If you want info about elective c-sections, you are more likely to find support here than in the ICAN Facebook group below.
BabyCenter: Cesarean birth support From their own description: "If you're scheduled for or recovering from a c-section, you'll need extra help with your new baby. Talk to others about how to manage and recover, and share what's worked best for you." This bboard has a lot of traffic and lots of women with all sorts of questions and answers for one another.
What to Expect: C-Section Mamas From the bboard: "A place for mommies who had their babies via c-section to share experiences, thoughts, feelings, stories, and questions."
